Responsibilities
- Lead the preparation of comprehensive financial packages for lenders, ensuring compliance with loan covenants and proactive management of refinancing activities.
- Deliver insightful monthly and quarterly financial reports to ownership, highlighting portfolio performance and cash flow dynamics.
- Oversee cash flow forecasting and scenario analyses to support strategic capital planning and operational decision-making.
- Supervise and mentor a small accounting team, enhancing processes related to accounts payable, reconciliations, and monthly close activities.
- Evaluate and optimize financial workflows and accounting systems, driving improvements in efficiency and accuracy.
- Standardize reporting practices to ensure consistency and clarity for stakeholders at all levels.
- Act as the primary finance liaison for lender inquiries and third-party loan servicers, fostering strong relationships and effective communication.
Qualifications
- Must-Have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or MBA preferred.
- 5–8 years of experience in real estate accounting or finance, with a focus on debt financing and property operations.
- Proven leadership experience working with property-level accountants or staff accountants.
- Strong proficiency in GAAP-based financial reporting and advanced Excel skills for modeling and forecasting.
- Familiarity with property accounting software such as Yardi, Appfolio, or MRI.
- Nice-to-Have:
- Experience in a family office or small company environment.
- Ability to communicate complex financial insights to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ownership mentality and a self-starter attitude in a lean operational setting.
