Responsibilities
- Lead the monthly closing process and manage all aspects of Private Credit fund general ledgers, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Oversee the preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements, including SEC filings (Forms 10-Q and 10-K), adhering to US GAAP and regulatory requirements.
- Manage relationships with outsourced accounting resources and third-party service providers to enhance operational efficiency.
- Support annual external audits and conduct comprehensive US GAAP analyses on financial reporting and internal controls.
- Drive technology enhancements and process automation initiatives to streamline accounting operations.
- Produce quarterly investor reports, ensuring compliance with BDC and RIC tests, as well as debt covenants.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Investment Operations, Tax, and Compliance, to support ongoing operational and reporting needs.
Qualifications
- Must-Have:
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in asset management, particularly in BDC/private credit or leveraged finance structures.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; advanced degree preferred, along with an active CPA license.
- Extensive experience with GAAP-based financial statements and SEC reporting, including knowledge of Regulations S-X and S-K.
- Proven ability to design and maintain control environments in accordance with COSO and SOX frameworks.
- Strong leadership skills with a track record of building and motivating multi-person teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Nice-to-Have:
- Experience with general ledger packages such as Geneva or Everest.
- Familiarity with regulatory reporting and compliance requirements for BDCs.
- Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with senior executives and stakeholders.
- Experience in mentoring and developing team members.
