Vice President, Accounting Operations

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a strategic vision for accounting operations, focusing on scalability, process optimization, and technology integration across billing, accounts payable, and procurement.
• Act as a strategic partner to the Chief Accounting Officer and other leaders, facilitating the integration of accounting operations for new business lines and acquisitions.
• Lead, mentor, and cultivate a global team, setting performance objectives and fostering a culture of continuous improvement through regular feedback and coaching.
• Drive process enhancements and automation initiatives to improve efficiency and accuracy in all managed functions.
• Oversee the implementation and enhancement of financial systems, ensuring robust internal controls over financial reporting (SOX) for procure-to-pay cycles.
• Manage the entire lifecycle of client billing and revenue collection, ensuring timely invoicing and cash application.
• Ensure accurate and timely accounts payable processing, vendor management, and expense reporting, while developing key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure team performance.

Qualifications

• Must-Have:
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in accounting or finance, with significant experience in a leadership role overseeing billing, accounts receivable, and accounts payable.
• Strong understanding of US GAAP and SOX compliance.
• Proven experience in leading and scaling teams within a public company environment.
• Demonstrated success in process improvement initiatives and financial system implementations, with experience in Oracle being a significant advantage.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Nice-to-Have:
• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP or NetSuite.
• Knowledge of acquisition integration and revenue recognition principles (ASC-742).
