Cost Accountant

Responsibilities

• Execute month-end closing processes, preparing journal entries for inventory, cost of goods sold (COGS), and fixed assets to ensure financial accuracy.
• Reconcile accounts related to inventory, cost of sales, and the general ledger to maintain precise financial records.
• Analyze variances, including purchase price and work order variances, to provide insights for decision-making.
• Assist in inventory costing and related ERP activities, enhancing operational efficiency.
• Support internal and external audits, including Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) testing and annual reviews, to ensure compliance and accuracy.
• Track capital expenses, manage fixed assets, and oversee prepaid expense amortization to optimize resource allocation.
• Prepare business property tax filings and U.S. Census survey reporting to meet regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Must-Have:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 5+ years of cost accounting experience in public or private industry.
• Experience in medium to large company accounting environments.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
• Must be a U.S. Person (includes U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, refugees, and asylees).
• Nice-to-Have:
• Familiarity with ERP systems, particularly Info XA.
• Experience with fixed asset software.
