Responsibilities

Lead and mentor production accounting teams to ensure accurate and timely cost reporting, safeguarding show assets and supporting production efforts.
Serve as a key resource for production accountants on studio policies, SOX compliance, and financial processes, including funding flows and intercompany transactions.
Review and analyze production budgets, cost reports, and reconciliations to ensure completeness and accuracy, addressing any discrepancies proactively.
Oversee the workflow of pre-production costs and provide guidance to wrap accountants for efficient show closures.
Manage the quarterly corporate reporting process, ensuring the accuracy of financial data from productions.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to drive financial decision-making through cash flow projections and comprehensive cost reporting.
Engage in the audit process for external and internal audits, ensuring compliance with guild and tax credit obligations.

Qualifications

Must-Have:
10+ years of production accounting experience in a studio or production environment.
Proven experience managing show-level production accountants.
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
Solid understanding of production insurance, guilds, unions, tax incentives, and compliance.
Proficiency in Movie Magic Budgeting and entertainment industry accounting software, including Smart Accounting and other EP products/platforms.
Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Nice-to-Have:
Knowledge of state and international tax incentive laws and credits.
Experience with union and non-union production guidelines across various formats.
Familiarity with financial systems such as SAP or NetSuite.
