Senior Accountant

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple facets of the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, including journal entries, reconciliations, and detailed variance analyses.
• Take ownership of critical accounting areas such as revenue recognition, lease accounting, accrued and prepaid expenses, and fixed asset management.
• Prepare comprehensive, audit-ready documentation and collaborate directly with external auditors to clarify findings and address inquiries.
• Conduct thorough investigations into discrepancies and unusual transactions, identifying root causes and driving timely resolutions.
• Utilize NetSuite extensively to research transactions, generate reports, and analyze ledger activity at a granular level.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to gather necessary information, resolve accounting questions, and close open items efficiently.
• Continuously seek and implement improvements to accounting processes, controls, and data accuracy to enhance scalability and compliance.

Qualifications

• Must-Have:
  • 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience with exposure to public company financial reporting and audit environments.
  • Hands-on proficiency with NetSuite for transaction research and reporting.
  • Strong command of U.S. GAAP and demonstrated ability to apply accounting standards independently.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including data manipulation, reconciliation, and analysis of large datasets.
  • Experience working cross-functionally to resolve accounting and operational challenges.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA designation preferred.
• Nice-to-Have:
  • Background in consumer products or ecommerce sectors, particularly apparel and accessories.
  • Familiarity with Google Workspace tools such as Google Sheets and Drive.
  • Experience supporting lease accounting and fixed asset processes within a retail environment.
