Responsibilities

• Manage the full cycle of month-end and year-end close activities, including fixed assets, intercompany transactions, and account reconciliations to ensure accurate and timely financial statements.
• Prepare and analyze balance sheets, flux reports, and executive management financial summaries, addressing discrepancies proactively.
• Oversee external financial filings with a focus on compliance with US GAAP and SEC regulations, supporting audit readiness and SOX controls.
• Develop and maintain robust internal controls and accounting policies to support a SOX-compliant environment and scalable financial infrastructure.
• Lead the annual audit process, serving as the primary liaison with external auditors and driving continuous process improvements.
• Guide and mentor a high-performing accounting team, fostering accountability and professional growth across multiple senior-level professionals.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with FP&A, supply chain, operations, and merchandising teams to ensure accurate inventory and cost accounting integration and support new business initiatives.

Qualifications

• Must-Have:
  • CPA certification with 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 5 years in senior leadership roles.
  • Proven expertise in managing general ledger accounting, fixed assets, intercompany accounting, and financial reporting within a multi-entity, publicly traded company.
  • Strong working knowledge of US GAAP, SEC reporting requirements, and SOX compliance in a public company environment.
  • Experience with inventory and cost accounting in retail, apparel, or consumer packaged goods sectors, sufficient to partner effectively with specialized teams.
  • Advanced proficiency with ERP systems, preferably NetSuite, and strong technical accounting acumen.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with a track record of building and developing teams and driving alignment across finance and operational functions.
  • Ability to operate autonomously and collaboratively in a demanding environment with fluctuating workloads around reporting periods.

  • Background combining Big 4 or mid-tier public accounting with private industry experience.
