Responsibilities

• Direct the overall strategy and daily management of the enterprise freight brokerage operation, ensuring alignment with organizational transportation demands.
• Supervise third-party freight execution, enforcing standardized processes, service quality, and operational controls across all business segments.
• Design and refine customer pricing models for various freight types, leveraging internal data and external market insights to enhance competitiveness and profitability.
• Lead carrier procurement efforts, including negotiation, qualification, onboarding, and ongoing performance evaluation to secure dependable capacity at optimal costs.
• Establish and monitor key performance indicators related to brokerage revenue, margins, pricing effectiveness, and operational efficiency to guide decision-making.
• Coach and develop brokerage teams, managing staffing and talent strategies to maintain capabilities that meet evolving business requirements.
• Champion technology adoption and continuous improvement initiatives, integrating tools such as transportation management systems and AI-driven pricing platforms to boost productivity and data accuracy.

Qualifications

• Must-Have:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Transportation, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • Seven or more years of progressive leadership experience in freight brokerage, transportation, or third-party logistics, with demonstrated expertise in carrier procurement and customer pricing.
  • Deep understanding of truckload brokerage operations, including dry van, flatbed, and step deck freight.
  • Proven skills in freight pricing strategy, carrier negotiation, margin management, and transportation market analysis.
  • Proficiency with transportation management systems, pricing tools, and carrier monitoring platforms.
  • Strong financial acumen, analytical capabilities, and leadership qualities to drive team performance and operational results.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams.
• Nice-to-Have:
  • Experience working within logistics or transportation sectors supporting renewable energy or similarly regulated industries.
  • Familiarity with automation and AI-assisted tools for pricing and market intelligence.
