Private equity real estate firm in the South Bay is looking for a Senior Accountant to join their team. Ideal candidates have experience in both multifamily and commercial real estate. They are looking for a detail-oriented Accountant to perform and coordinate accounting duties within our organization. To be successful as an Accountant, you should have a solid working knowledge of GAAP and strong financial analysis skills. An outstanding Accountant should also possess strong Excel skills, be detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to work with little to no supervision and perform under pressure.
Coordinating accounting functions and programs.
Preparing financial analyses and reports.
Preparing revenue projections and forecasting expenditure.
Assisting with preparing and monitoring budgets.
Maintaining and reconciling balance sheet and general ledger accounts.
Assisting with annual audit preparations.
Investigating and resolving audit findings, account discrepancies, and issues of non-compliance.
Contributing to the development of new or amended accounting systems, programs, and procedures.
Performing other accounting duties as required or assigned.
Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business or related field is required.
At least 3-5+ years of public accounting experience is highly desirable.
Minimum 3 years of progressive responsibilities in the finance/accounting field.
Previous experience in real estate required.
Understanding of real estate financial reporting and cost accounting standards.
Must be able to handle multiple projects with accuracy under strict deadlines.
A cohesive ability at interpersonal and communication skills, both verbally and written.
Able to engage with staff at all levels of the organization and exercise sound judgment.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills; responsive and good at follow-through.
Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
Knowledgeable Yardi financial and reporting capabilities helpful.
