Overview: Pacific Executive Search has been engaged on a search for an Accounting Manager in the South Bay area within the high-tech manufacturing industry. Our client focuses on technology that uses technology to improve environmental outcomes in food production and ecological preserves. This role would oversee global consolidations as well as domestic operational accounting and reporting and reports directly to the head of finance and accounting.

  • Responsibilities
  • Ensure timely preparation of the monthly financial package, including accurate consolidation and elimination accounting, and reasonable valuation of the CTA.
  • Maintain month-end close checklist and communicate status with team members for timely delivery of reports.
  • Oversee balance sheet reconciliations and process controls to ensure financial statement reliability.
  • Participate in monthly bank reconciliation and verify data for cash flow forecast.
  • Create and maintain an “accounting manual” outlining internal control policies and procedures.
  • Review and verify intercompany entries and foreign currency accounting.
  • Review overseas payroll reports for accuracy, upload journal entries, and reconcile month-end balances.
  • Collaborate with inventory accounting to ensure accurate valuation of inventory, COGS, and gross margins.
  • Supervise controls and accounting for travel, meals, and employee reimbursements.
  • Troubleshoot accounting functions such as billing, cash application, and accounts payable.
  • Validate balance sheet through periodic VAT filings.
  • Develop new reports from ERP for monthly package and other departments.
  • Oversee payroll administration and recording.
  • Supervise year-end audit.
  • Collaborate with other departments to enhance fixed asset accounting tracking.
  • Mentor and develop Accounting staff.
  • Qualifications
  • 6+ years of accounting experience in public accounting and industry sectors.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
  • CPA preferred with CPA firm assurance experience.
  • Strong knowledge of NetSuite for accounting functions including consolidations and CTA.
  • Understanding of US GAAP and internal controls.
  • Proactive with attention to detail.
  • Excellent time and self-management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Collaborative and team player.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Experience in fast-growing small manufacturing environments preferred.
