Description:

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the external CPA firm responsible for bookkeeping by compiling and supplying necessary internal data.
  • Supervise employee expense submissions, manage bookkeeping tasks, and perform monthly reconciliations using QuickBooks and Concur.
  • Handle daily banking activities, including processing invoices, receipts, and approving transactions.
  • Coordinate with the global accounting team at headquarters for timely monthly reporting and accounting arrangements.
  • Reconcile semi-annual royalty accounts related to music publishing and labels.
  • Lead the transition of accounting operations during audits of the US entity.
  • Manage the accounting processes for subsidiary and affiliate companies.
  • Address and resolve complex accounting issues involving transactions such as joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions, or other music industry deals.
  • Develop and uphold the company's accounting policies and procedures.
  • Oversee tax filing processes, including managing schedules and assisting with submissions.
  • Support various corporate administrative functions as needed.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting and bookkeeping adhering to US-GAAP standards.
  • Proven experience in reviewing monthly accounting statements and managing balance sheet worksheets.
  • Familiarity with royalty accounting is preferred.
  • Experience working in a professional accounting firm or holding an active CPA designation is preferred.
  • Background in the music or entertainment industry is advantageous.
  • Proficient in QuickBooks and Concur.
  • Strong skills in Google Spreadsheets.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong sense of responsibility and a diligent work ethic.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
