Hybrid Accounting Manager role with an awesome record label in Beverly Hills.

The company is a record label focused on empowering the best artists around the US. It is one of the largest conglomerate labels in Japan and now has a fast-growing division in the US. There is a lot of opportunity for growth and the hybrid schedule is extremely flexible. The role would include managing all daily accounting activities, and they are looking for a go-getter to lead the corporate department.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage outside CPA firm that we outsource bookkeeping by putting together internal data and providing them to the CPA firm
  • Supervise employee expense reporting, manage and conduct bookkeeping and conduct reconciliations on a monthly basis (QuickBooks/Concur)
  • Manage daily bank transactions including processing invoices, receipts, and approving transactions
  • Responsible for coordinating with the global accounting team in the HQ for the monthly reports or accounting arrangements from time to time
  • Reconcile semi-annual royalty accountings (music publishing and music label)
  • Lead the accounting operations shift upon audit of the US entity
  • Manage consolidation of accounting for the subsidiaries or affiliates from time to time (if any)
  • Solve any accounting issues related to relatively complicated transactions such as joint ventures, M&A, or any other music business deals
  • Develop and maintain company accounting policies
  • Manage tax filings (manage schedules and assist filings)
  • Assist some of the other corporate administrative operations

Qualifications:

  • More than 5 years of experience in accounting and bookkeeping in US-GAAP
  • Experience in reviewing the company's monthly accounting and managing monthly BS worksheets
  • Experience working with royalties and tax
  • Managerial/Supervisory experience is highly preferred
  • Experience in a professional accounting firm or an active CPA (preferred)
  • Experience in music/music industry (preferred)
  • Experience in banking/treasury roles (preferred)
  • Knowledge of Quickbooks/Concur (preferred)
  • Microsoft Excel and Google Spreadsheets skills
  • Highly detail-oriented
  • Strong sense of responsibility and diligent work manner
  • Written and verbal communication skills
