A private equity real estate firm in the South Bay is looking for an Accounting Manager. Ideal candidates have experience in both multifamily and commercial real estate. The AM has the primary responsibility of managing the company's finances, including strategic financial planning, management of financial risks, financial reporting, cost accounting, analysis of data, and cash and business forecasting. Reporting to the founders, the Accounting Manager is an integral member of the organization and will work with Operations and Legal to achieve yearly goals and objectives. Responsibilities:

  • Provides leadership, direction, and management of the finance and accounting team.
  • Provides strategic recommendations to the founders and members of the executive management team pertaining to long-term business and financial planning and sustainability.
  • Monitors and directs the implementation of strategic business plans.
  • Manages the processes for financial forecasting and budgets.
  • Oversees the preparation of all financial reporting.
  • Establishes and develops relationships with senior management and external partners and stakeholders.
  • Reviews all formal finance-related procedures.
  • Provides leadership in the proper application of generally accepted accounting policies and procedures.
  • Manages the internal and external audit function, including audits by contracting agencies.
  • Constructs and monitor reliable internal control systems.
  • Provides accuracy and integrity of financial records, including ledgers, journals, and contract financial records.
  • Prepares monthly accrual basis financial reports of income and expenses, receivables, payables and bank balances, and other financial reports and analysis as required.
  • Revises, as necessary, the Financial Policies and Procedures Manual.
  • Other such duties as shall be assigned.

  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
  • Knowledgeable of Yardi financial and reporting capabilities helpful.

Education and Experience:

  • 5-7+ years of progressively responsible corporate finance experience
  • Previous experience in Real Estate REQUIRED
  • Yardi Software experience MANDATORY
  • Master’s degree in finance, accounting, business, or related field is required; MBA is highly desirable.
  • Active CPA license highly desirable
