JOB DESCRIPTION – ANALYST, FINANCE & ASSET MANAGEMENT
The analyst will work closely with the asset management team and the vice president of corporate finance to evaluate individual asset, market and portfolio performance, implement strategies to maximize investment returns, and assist with project financing and other capital markets work. The role requires the candidate to have well-honed quantitative and communication skills, an analytical mindset, and an ability to draw insightful conclusions and present them to the team. The analyst will be a key part of the firm’s finance and asset management value creation strategy.
Primary Job Responsibilities
Develop and maintain analytical and benchmarking tools to monitor property performance and industry trends
Implement and manage processes to optimize the use of gathered data to evaluate and enhance the financial performance of the firm's hotel assets
Provide market insights and guidance to senior leadership to inform capital investment and strategy decisions
Manage portfolio level excel models to assist senior management in tracking investment returns, evaluating liquidity needs, and planning for capital transactions
Support various types of financing efforts such as acquisition and construction loans, refinancing and loan modifications, tax credit financings, and fund lines of credit by producing financing request packages, responding to lender due diligence needs and participating in term sheet negotiations and loan documentation
Manage ongoing debt-compliance reporting and work closely with the vice president of corporate finance to maintain relationships with lenders
Monitor loan covenants and prepare analysis that will inform management capital markets strategy
Assist with strategic initiatives throughout the life cycle of an asset, including concepting and development, revenue optimization, expense streamlining, and asset sales
Provide support for capital investment work, including multi-million dollar renovations
Analyze and monitor sustainability best practices and other ESG programs, and help identify additional opportunities to advance ESG goals across the portfolio
Maintain reliable, high-quality records to track value-enhancing initiatives and portfolio performance
Create investor presentations for fundraising and reporting purposes
Candidates must have the ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast paced environment and successfully complete new and challenging tasks. The ability to conduct independent research and analysis on economic, industry and property performance and trends is essential. Advanced knowledge of MS Office and Excel modeling skills is also required.
