Overview: Pacific Executive Search has been engaged on a search for an Analyst, Open-end Fund Accounting in Downtown LA. You would be responsible for maintaining the books and records for open-end funds and separate accounts, as well as reporting to clients and the portfolio group, requiring a minimum of 3 years relevant accounting or audit experience within Big Four public accounting or a mix of public accounting and investment management industry experience. Description:
**Responsibilities**

  • Manage the monthly closing process for separately managed accounts, commingled open funds, and employee funds, including reconciling portfolio data, calculating management fees, and accruing expenses.
  • Supervise the reconciliations and other tasks completed by offshore service providers.
  • Review quarterly and annual financial statements prepared in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
  • Ensure compliance with financial reporting controls and document evidentiary matter for Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.
  • Coordinate interim and annual financial statement audit fieldwork with external auditors.
  • Review fund and client-specific performance calculations.
  • Assist in preparing ad-hoc requests from client services and the investment team.
  • Oversee efficiency and automation projects related to funds.
  • Perform additional tasks as needed.

**Qualifications**

  • At least 3 years of relevant accounting or audit experience in Big Four public accounting or a combination of public accounting and investment management industry experience.
  • Strong understanding of reconciliation and account analysis.
  • Excellent knowledge of accounting and application of relevant investment company accounting rules.
  • Strong analytical skills to resolve complex problems.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with Geneva and/or Geneva World Investor accounting systems preferred.
  • Experience with PowerBI, Alteryx, or other data analytical tools a plus.
