Description:

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and manage the accounts payable team within the organization.
  • Oversee the completion of all tasks performed by the AP team, including data entry, validation, and processing of invoices at both community and corporate levels.
  • Establish standardized procedures to enhance in-house efficiency and maintain internal processes for successful AP operations.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies while guaranteeing accuracy and timeliness in all financial obligations.
  • Manage tax-related processes, including the handling of 1099 tax information.
  • Engage actively in customer service, providing prompt and precise communication.
  • Assist with financial reporting, including general ledger reviews and various expense analyses as required.
  • Review transactions to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.
  • Promote continuous improvement by supporting management initiatives, identifying areas for enhancement, and documenting processes.
  • Handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Take on additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting is required.
  • Proficient in Excel is essential.
  • Experience with Yardi accounting software is a plus.
  • Prior experience in corporate accounting is preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and lead a diverse team.
  • Self-driven, detail-oriented, and adaptable to change, with strong multitasking abilities.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the capacity to meet deadlines efficiently.
  • Ability to think independently and objectively to resolve issues.
