Description:

Responsibilities

  • Manage the financial closing process and accounting functions for a publicly traded organization.
  • Generate financial statements on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
  • Assist in the preparation of regulatory filings, including Form 10Q and Form 10K.
  • Review and analyze standard costing, Bill of Materials costing, inventory reserve assessments, and the finalization of production order settlements.
  • Draft technical accounting analyses and memos as necessary.
  • Supervise all accounting functions to ensure comprehensive process documentation and compliance with GAAP and other regulatory standards.
  • Ensure timely documentation of accounting narratives and processes, including related controls.
  • Uphold adherence to company policies and procedures while ensuring the effectiveness of internal controls to safeguard the integrity of financial statements.
  • Coordinate with external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits of financial statements for SEC submission.
  • Establish and uphold the organization’s accounting policies, practices, and procedures.
  • Oversee banking operations and activities.
  • Lead initiatives for process improvements to align with industry best practices and the strategic vision of the organization.
  • Keep the organization informed of all financial matters related to operations.
  • Coordinate tax preparation and review processes.
  • Encourage a collaborative and productive workplace culture.
  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and training to team members within the department.
  • Conduct performance evaluations, set objectives, and support career advancement for team members.

Qualifications

  • Strong technical accounting expertise with a comprehensive understanding of GAAP.
  • Operational proficiency in general ledger management, equity accounting, accounts payable and receivable, payroll, fixed assets, income tax, and banking.
  • Proficient in spreadsheet applications and relevant software.
  • Demonstrated experience in a publicly traded company and familiarity with SEC financial reporting cycles.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, and entrepreneurial environment, emphasizing accuracy, creativity, integrity, sound judgment, urgency, and a blend of strategic and tactical skills.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification is required.
  • 8-10 years of experience in financial reporting leadership.
  • Experience in a manufacturing setting with knowledge of cost and inventory accounting.
  • Proven track record in financial reporting and meeting deadlines.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel capabilities.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
