Printing company in San Fernando Valley area is looking for a Assistant Controller to manage accounting, treasury, financial reporting functions for the business, and oversee the completion of ledger account reconciliations and financial statement compilation.
Responsibilities:
Monthly financial closing & reporting on P&L detail, Balance Sheet, and Statement of Cash flows
Oversee balance sheet reconciliations including an emphasis on: internally developed capitalized software, fixed assets, inventory, prepaid expenses and accrued expenses
Proactively works with fellow management on the development and execution of projects that will improve the bottom line (AP process automation, lease accounting standard transition to 842, cost optimization, etc.)
Supervise Company’s tax reporting: income tax & sales and use tax
Manage the year-end audit process
Maintain and where needed create standard work instructions for all key processes
Ability to problem solve and work across internal and external teams
Performs other related duties as required and assigned
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or similar related field
7+ years relevant experience; multiple years of experience as an assistant controller or manager with e-commerce or manufacturing experience preferred
Experience with internally developed software (ASC350-40), revenue recognition (ASC 606) and lease accounting standards (ASC 842)
Experience with the NetSuite and perpetual inventory system such as RF-SMART
Experience managing year-end audit process and tax provision
Strong working knowledge of GAAP
Experience managing a team of accounting professionals
Excellent analytical skills
Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written
Advanced skills with Microsoft Excel
Active CPA, preferred
Accounting/Finance experience in a company with private equity ownership, preferred
Self-motivated, hands-on, detail oriented with the ability to take initiative
