Responsibilities

  • Supervise all Corporate Accounting activities to guarantee precision and uniformity in month-end closing and reporting to executive leadership.
  • Demonstrate strong financial insight, including the ability to generate, interpret, and act upon financial reports, as well as clearly communicate the financial implications of business decisions.
  • Oversee the preparation and evaluation of monthly corporate financial statements, variance analyses, and budget information.
  • Manage the consolidation process and balance sheet reconciliations, along with the creation and delivery of ad hoc reports.
  • Promote ongoing enhancement, communication, and collaboration of the month-end closing process by educating department leaders on financial matters that affect budgets.
  • Accountable for all ownership entity profit and loss statements and balance sheets, including all pertinent supporting documents and reconciliations.
  • Develop, implement, and enforce accounting policies, procedures, and business guidelines related to accounting, budgeting, and project tracking.
  • Stay informed about regulations, policies, and procedures relevant to financial reporting and operations.
  • Collaborate with the property accounting team on special projects as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with 4-6 years of combined experience in public accounting and industry preferred.
  • Experience in financial/accounting roles within the Multi-Family Property or Real Estate sector is preferred.
  • CPA certification is preferred.
  • Demonstrated strong management experience is essential.
  • Proficiency in Yardi software is required.
  • Advanced computer skills, including proficiency in spreadsheets, presentations, databases, and document creation software.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality in all aspects of work.
  • Self-driven, organized, and professional demeanor.
  • Exhibit a neat, professional, and courteous manner.
  • Capable of managing multiple tasks and priorities, with excellent time management skills, attention to detail, and the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with personnel at various levels within the organization.
