Overview: Pacific Executive Search has been engaged on a search for a AVP Corporate Accounting position in West LA. Description:

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the quarterly closing process and monthly preliminary close, ensuring compliance with Revenue Recognition standards (ASC 606), Equity Method Accounting for Investments (ASC 323), Consolidation principles (ASC 810), and Operating Leases (ASC 842), along with general bookkeeping duties.
  • Assist in the preparation of quarterly unaudited financial statements and partner capital reports, as well as annual audited financial statements, footnotes, audit requests, and tax workpapers.
  • Lead and manage the Finance & Accounting team, consisting of 8 members.
  • Guide and develop the Corporate Accounting team to enhance efficiency in the closing process, focusing on automation and streamlining of procedures.
  • Collaborate with the Financial Planning & Analysis team to expedite the closing process and improve reporting for management.
  • Support various accounting functions and projects as needed, including capital calls, distributions, income allocation, and system implementations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance is mandatory.
  • A valid Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license is required.
  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience is essential.
  • Experience in fund or asset management is necessary.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with a keen eye for detail and a strong commitment to quality.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and foster relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Capability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and adapt to a rapidly evolving environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required.
  • Experience with accounting software such as NetSuite and Concur is advantageous.
  • Demonstrate respect for a dynamic, people-centered culture, with the discernment to know when to follow and when to take the lead.
