We're on the lookout for a talented Associate Vice President (AVP) to join our Real Estate Debt Finance – Accounting team. Responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day accounting for both publicly traded mortgage REIT and private real estate debt funds.
  • Liaise and maintain relationships with internal resources, offshoring resources, external fund administrator(s), and external auditors to ensure timely monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting.
  • Work closely with external banks and lenders, managing account relationships effectively.
  • Contribute to the preparation of quarterly and annual SEC filings for our NYSE listed public company.
  • Participate in regular reviews to enhance effectiveness, efficiency, and accuracy, incorporating new technology when applicable.
  • Oversee and review monthly/quarterly/annual NAV reconciliations with the fund administrator.
  • Assist in debt compliance reporting.
  • Review quarterly and annual GAAP financial statements and footnote disclosures for multiple funds, as well as capital account summaries for limited partners.
  • Aid in the preparation of quarterly and annual reporting requirements to investors for private real estate debt funds.
  • Maintain cash flow projections and daily cash management, including handling LP capital activity, such as capital calls/subscription and distribution/withdrawal calculations.
  • Prepare and assist with ad-hoc limited partner, capital markets, investor relations, and front-office requests.
  • Undertake various special projects and reports for both internal and external use.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree is required.
  • Licensed CPA (or candidate for licensure) preferred.
  • A minimum of 7 years of relevant professional experience, including public accounting (Big 4 preferred) and/or fund accounting experience.
  • Real estate G/L system knowledge is a plus.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel is highly preferred.
