Overview: Pacific Executive Search has been engaged on a search for a Controller position in South Orange County within the software industry. Description: Responsibilities: – Oversee the finance and accounting operations, including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL Cost Accounting, Fixed Asset Accounting, and Revenue Recognition. – Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting. – Maintain proper segregation of duties and risk management practices to protect assets. – Develop, document, and maintain business processes and accounting policies to strengthen internal controls. – Collaborate with the CFO on process improvements, including system assessment and implementation efforts. – Ensure timely delivery of consolidated financial statements during month-end and year-end close processes. – Collaboratively manage treasury functions with the CFO. – Manage annual audits. – Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings. – Oversee support for audits. – Research technical accounting issues for compliance. – Recommend financial metrics and benchmarks to drive financial performance. – Collaborate with individuals outside of Finance and Accounting to resolve issues. – Exercise good judgment, professionalism, and integrity. – Support diversity and inclusion in all aspects of work. – Provide guidance, mentorship, and feedback for staff development and performance. – Minimize and address conflict effectively. – Promote a high-quality customer experience for both internal and external clients. – Perform other assigned duties. Qualifications: – Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required, with 10 years of accounting experience and a minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience. – Experience working in a Federal Government Contracting environment.
– Experience with QuickBooks Online. – Strong organizational, time management, and analytical skills. – Proficiency in MS Office applications. – Excellent oral and written communication skills. – Strong interpersonal skills. – Ability to work independently and collaboratively to achieve goals. – Self-starter and detail-oriented.
