Description:

Responsibilities

  • Direct and manage the preparation and presentation of precise and timely financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP and regulatory standards.
  • Supervise daily accounting functions, encompassing accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activities.
  • Deliver insights into financial performance and trends, including branch and plant-level analysis, in collaboration with the Finance team.
  • Perform financial analyses to aid in business decision-making and provide financial insights for strategic initiatives.
  • Evaluate and enhance the company’s accounting policies and monthly closing procedures, ensuring effective communication across various departments.
  • Drive ongoing improvements in the monthly accounting close process, aiming for a five-day close.
  • Enhance financial literacy throughout the organization and advocate for data-driven decision-making.
  • Manage complex accounting functions such as valuations, purchase accounting, consolidations, transfer pricing, leases, and reorganizations.
  • Review and refine existing accounting practices, reporting standards, and internal controls.
  • Lead the annual external audit process, including interim audits, ensuring all deadlines and deliverables are met.
  • Collaborate closely with FP&A, operations, supply chain, and IT to ensure financial systems align with business objectives.
  • Assist the management team during the annual budgeting process.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA designation is preferred.
  • At least 10 years of progressive accounting leadership experience, including a minimum of 3 years as a controller in a manufacturing or distribution setting.
  • Extensive knowledge of U.S. GAAP, internal controls, and audit procedures.
  • Experience in leading cost accounting and inventory management in a multi-site environment.
  • Proven track record in managing month-end close processes, consolidations, and both internal and external audits.
  • Collaborative leadership approach with the ability to manage, mentor, and develop high-performing teams.
