Controller position for a technology firm in the South Bay. It is a hands-on, reporting to the CFO and managing 3 (soon to be 5). The company is on the cutting edge of digital manufacturing and process automation. Equity potential, solid compensation, and generous benefits.


• Prepare a cash flow forecast based on the existing and foreseeable commitments and operate to maintain runway; prepare weekly cash balance and runway reporting to CEO and CFO

• Work with the technical and corporate teams to maintain budgets, report budgets to actuals

• Perform project-level reconciliations to evaluate progress to completion versus cash position

• Review and approve budgeted and ad-hoc requests from the technical and operational teams

• Reconcile intercompany transactions in accordance with intercompany agreements

• Prepare necessary regulatory, state, payroll, and federal filings

• Primary responsibility for the annual audit at the division level; work closely with the corporate team to facilitate consolidation as well as annual and quarterly reporting per GAAP

• Ensure adequate controls are being maintained over fixed assets, inventory, and cash

• Lead and assess the operating performance by preparing financial plans, monitoring expenditures and performance against plan, performing analysis of variances, and helping establish action plans to meet financial performance objectives

• Analyze sales, cost of sales, margins, scrap, and overhead; develop inventory valuations, product costing, operation and project reporting

• Complete all corporate reporting requirements (e.g., payroll, insurance, tax filing, quarterly reporting, etc.,)

• Contribute to the overall strategy and operating plans

• Support the board reporting and investor meetings, as needed

• Support the CFO in the achievement of company and divisional functional objectives

• Implements the most appropriate financial and accounting practices per GAAP


• Possess bachelor’s degree, a Finance or Accounting degree or equivalent, MBA preferred

• CPA preferred

• 7 – 10 years in a variety of accounting positions required in a manufacturing environment

• Experience in general accounting operations/manufacturing accounting experience is strongly preferred

• Ability to work with all levels of an organization in a professional manner

• High energy level and strong self-motivation

• Demonstrated ability to manage development projects and meet deadlines

• Strong communication skills (both verbal and written)

• Proficiency with database applications and administration systems, Oracle is preferred

• Develops a thorough understanding and passion for our Vehicles

• Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time

• The person in this position needs to occasionally move about the office and warehouse to execute work efficiently

• The person in this position frequently communicates with the department heads, vendors, and the whole company at times
