Description:

Responsibilities

  • Continuously monitors the environment to identify and implement measures to prevent cyber threats, including:
    • Keeping track of security resources for emerging cyber threats
    • Independently investigating and responding to real-time alerts
    • Reviewing both real-time and historical reports for security or compliance breaches
    • Communicating with senior cybersecurity personnel and IT management regarding critical incidents and strategic security needs
  • Examines system audit logs and logs from other cybersecurity solutions
  • Designs and implements Security Awareness initiatives (including recommended training) to inform employees and external customers about the Information and Cyber Security Program
  • Collaborates with Security Operations Center (SOC) analysts and management to triage and respond to security alerts, coordinating with the Incident Response Team for assessment, containment, and eradication
  • Manages threat lists, including whitelists and blacklists
  • Ensures vulnerabilities are addressed according to established plans, which includes:
    • Running internal vulnerability and penetration testing tools as directed
    • Researching and recommending security patches for various systems
    • Evaluating the security implications of software modifications
    • Monitoring vulnerability and threat services to assess current risks and suggest response and mitigation strategies
  • Works with business units and end users to develop and enhance Data Loss Prevention (DLP) rules to safeguard company data
  • Conducts independent research and provides insights on selecting third-party vendors and facilitating TableTop cybersecurity exercises across business units
  • Drafts or reviews cybersecurity incident response plans and runbooks, as well as creates or verifies automation methods for their implementation
  • Suggests updates to IT security policies and procedures
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required
  • A minimum of three years of experience in information technology, information security, or cybersecurity-related fields is essential
  • At least one year of experience in cybersecurity incident collection, analysis, and reporting processes is preferred
  • Hands-on experience with information technology and cybersecurity tools and technologies (such as endpoint protection, vulnerability management, desktop management, mobile security, and monitoring utilities) is desirable
  • Security+ and/or Network+ certification is preferred
  • Basic understanding of computer networking (TCP/IP) is necessary
  • Practical experience with Microsoft Windows and Linux operating systems and platforms is required
  • Familiarity with cyber threats and vulnerabilities is essential
  • Knowledge of adversarial tactics, techniques, and procedures is beneficial
  • Scripting skills (in PowerShell or Python) are a plus
  • Ability to analyze complex information and communicate key points clearly and understandably
  • Capability to produce high-quality work promptly in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks while maintaining attention to detail
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, along with interpersonal skills for effective interaction with team members and management
  • Ability to work independently and make sound judgments
