Well known consumer products company in the South Bay is looking for a strong Director, Financial Reporting to help oversee SEC financial filings and reports.
Responsibilities:
Oversee the SEC financial filing process and review SEC financial filings, including annual reports on Form 10-K and Form 11-K, quarterly reports on Form 10-Q, footnotes to the financial statements and Management Discussion and Analysis, and XBRL.
Review and provide feedback on internal and external communications, including board and audit committee presentations and investor relations earnings releases, scripts, and presentations.
Review the monthly and quarterly financial reporting package, including income statement and balance sheet analysis, and various management reports.
Proactively monitor current FASB and SEC activities and evaluate the impact of adopting new accounting standards.
Work with independent auditor to ensure the timely completion of quarterly reviews and the annual audit.
Review accounting policies and procedures that ensure the highest level of operational efficiency for business units, while maintaining appropriate internal controls and compliance with US GAAP.
Work as part of cross-functional teams to execute various special projects and transactions and preparation of ad hoc financial reporting.
Qualifications:
Undergraduate and/or Masters Degree in Accounting required. CPA required.
A minimum of 10 years GAAP and SEC reporting experience ideally within a global, publicly-traded manufacturing environment.
Exceptional leadership, decision making and technical skills.
Technical reporting expertise will cover a broad range of areas including inventory, pensions, foreign exchange, financial instruments, stock-based compensation, etc.
Demonstrated ability to stay current with emerging trends and relevant accounting pronouncements that impact accounting and financial reporting.
A proven track record of instilling core finance processes and controls and leading process improvements to accounting and close processes.
Proven track record of building teams and attracting and developing high performance talent. Ability to provide constructive and positive feedback, while motivating and holding the team accountable for team performance.
Organized and able to utilize time, energy, and resources to manage priorities and achieve goals. Able to multitask and pay strong attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel. Knowledge of Hyperion Financial Management, Oracle, and Wdeskis a plus.
