We are seeking a highly skilled finance professional with a passion for numbers and an unwavering commitment to excellence. As the Director of Accounting, you will play a pivotal role in leading our financial close process and guiding our accounting team to new heights of success.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead an efficient 5-day close process, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant results.
  • Review reconciliations of large data sets from various platforms.
  • Provide guidance to the team by reviewing B/S & P&L accounts, schedules, and journal entries.
  • Oversee multiple areas including Inventory, Cost Accounting, Revenue, Receivables, Advertising, CapEx, SG&A, etc., ensuring financial accuracy across our vertically integrated business operations.
  • Stay up-to-date with new accounting guidelines and lead their adoption in accordance with GAAP. Prepare technical memos and implement policy changes as needed.
  • Serve as the main contact with external auditors, manage PBC (Provided by Client) requests, and prepare financial statements and footnotes.
  • Lead systems integration, customization, and other accounting projects.
  • Conduct accounting reviews and project management meetings with the team and cross-functional departments.
  • Provide guidance and coaching to departmental staff, setting goals and ensuring their development.
  • Support leadership in achieving the company’s goals and seek continuous improvements in accounting processes and procedures.
  • Provide monthly explanations to Finance on flux and budget vs. actuals.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to drive results independently in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Expert knowledge of US GAAP and ability to research and navigate technical accounting changes.
  • Exceptional project management, prioritization, and organizational skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a hands-on approach.
  • Effective interpersonal skills with all levels of the organization.
  • Positive attitude and adaptability to change and ambiguity.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required.
  • 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including roles with increasing responsibility in organizations that have undergone rapid growth (at least $500M in revenue).
  • 4+ years of experience leading a team of Managers.
  • Big-4 Public Audit background, ideally as a manager or above.
  • Strong working knowledge of NetSuite or other large ERP systems.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel.
  • Certified Public Accountant License.
  • Experience with E-commerce, CPG, and fast-paced startup environments.
  • Experience working in a publicly traded company.
