Overview: Pacific Executive Search has been engaged on a search for a Director/VP Finance in West LA. You would be responsible for liaising with third party fund administrators, coordinating audits, and managing compliance and investor relations. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with the COO, gain exposure to a variety of financial functions, and contribute to the growth and success of a dynamic financial services firm in the Venture Capital/Private Equity industry.

Description:
**Responsibilities**

  • Coordinate with third-party fund administrator and conduct initial reviews of quarterly NAV packages, financial statements, and partners' capital statements
  • Examine investor capital calls/distributions and notifications prepared by fund administrator
  • Assist in the quarterly valuation process, collaborate with deal teams to verify quarterly valuations for accuracy, and compile Valuation Committee materials
  • Engage with auditors and manage the timely preparation of annual audits for funds and co-investment vehicles
  • Collaborate with third-party tax preparers to assess entity tax returns, investor K-1s, and tax projections, and handle tax payments
  • Support the investment closing process, review fund flows, conduct call back procedures, and initiate wire transfers
  • Process fund line of credit advance requests, paydowns, reporting, and compliance certificates
  • Conduct or review audit confirmations
  • Oversee the distribution of portfolio company information to co-investors
  • Review employee expense reports
  • Initiate wire transfers for online payments
  • Review quarterly portfolio company invoices for fees and expense reimbursements
  • Collaborate with compliance consultant, assist COO in ensuring timely issuance of regulatory filings
  • Respond to data requests for annual compliance reviews
  • Compile necessary information for Form ADV and review drafts before filing
  • Review Form PF compiled by the Fund Administrator
  • Respond to investor data requests
  • Assist in reviewing investor decks and annual meeting presentations
  • Assist in compiling a dataroom for fundraising activities, if applicable

**Qualifications**

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
  • CPA certification preferred
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in finance or accounting roles
  • Experience in private equity or investment management industry preferred
  • Strong knowledge of fund accounting, financial reporting, and compliance
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and financial software
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
  • Experience working with auditors and tax preparers
  • Knowledge of regulatory filings and compliance requirements
  • Experience with investor relations and fundraising activities a plus
