Investment firm finance and operations leadership opportunity with one of the most well-known and largest dedicated clean energy and climate solutions growth equity firms in the US. This firm is seeking a broad-based and experienced Director or VP of Finance and Operations to join its team. The ideal candidates, based in Los Angeles, will be comfortable in a high-growth and collaborative partnership and will be involved in various aspects of the business.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversight of outside fund administrator including review and coordination of quarterly reporting, capital calls, distributions, and investor requests

  • Management of the quarterly and annual close process of various fund and general partner vehicles including waterfall calculations and providing analysis for forecasting and tax planning

  • Completion of the quarterly valuation process including meeting with investment deal team members

  • Coordination and management of the annual audit and tax engagements for multiple funds Hedge Fund

  • Maintain monthly performance calculations and update marketing presentation materials

  • Public market trade execution and settlement reconciliation

  • Oversight of outside fund administrator including review and coordination of monthly reporting

  • Involved in day-to-day management of the firm’s SEC compliance program, with the goal of transitioning into the Chief Compliance Officer role

  • Provide ad hoc analysis and reporting to senior management for corporate development, marketing, and strategic planning

  • Involvement in special finance/operations matters (e.g. legal, IT, real estate/leasing, etc.)

Qualifications:

  • BS/BA in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent; CPA preferred

  • 7-10+ years of professional experience gained through a combination of public accounting and private fund experience

  • Substantive and recent experience with hedge funds, venture capital, and private equity, including solid foundation in partnership accounting, valuations, and back-office investor reporting and operations for institutional clientele

  • SEC compliance experience

  • Excellent command of Excel and other relevant financial/valuation programs

  • Ability to operate successfully in a fast-paced and dynamic entrepreneurial environment
