Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain the monthly schedule for Fixed Asset capitalization.
  • Draft memos related to project and asset capitalization in compliance with GAAP standards.
  • Collaborate with various departments and project managers to streamline the time and asset capitalization processes.
  • Generate and suggest monthly capitalization entries for both assets and labor.
  • Monitor, track, and report on monthly capital expenditure (capex) spending and work in progress (WIP).
  • Oversee and execute month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing procedures.
  • Prepare and review a variety of journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Ensure robust internal controls are in place within accounting processes for accurate and timely reporting.
  • Assist in the preparation of audit documentation for year-end audits conducted by external auditors.
  • Support analysis and provide ad hoc reporting as needed.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Comprehensive knowledge of GAAP and the complete accounting cycle.
  • Strong grasp of fixed asset capitalization and software capitalization (ASC 350).
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting or finance; CPA certification is a plus but not mandatory.
  • Proficient with software and capable of reconciling data across multiple systems.
  • Advanced skills in Excel, including functions such as vlookups, pivots, and sumifs.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Self-motivated individual with the capacity to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently.
  • Adaptable and strategic team player with high ethical standards, willing to engage in hands-on work.
  • Proficient in all MS Office applications; familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics is preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
