Description:

Responsibilities

• Assist the Fund Controllers in overseeing the daily operations of various investment funds and co-investment vehicles with intricate structures.
• Support the calculation of Net Internal Rate of Return (IRR), Net Asset Value (NAV), management fees, and carried interest distributions.
• Keep comprehensive records of investor commitments, capital movements, and fund transactions.
• Gather data related to quarterly fund activities for submission to the third-party administrator in preparation for quarterly reports.
• Conduct an initial review of deliverables from the third-party administrator, including quarterly reporting packages and capital call/distribution calculations.
• Reconcile bank accounts and general ledgers for funds; manage processing of fund-related invoices, direct expenses, and tax payments.
• Coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors throughout the audit and tax preparation phases.
• Manage the investor email inbox and respond to various inquiries or requests for updates regarding investor accounts, such as portal access and banking changes.
• Collaborate with other departments within the firm, including investor relations, investment teams, operations, and compliance.
• Ensure adherence to internal accounting policies and proper documentation practices.
• Engage in initiatives aimed at process improvement and support the rollout of new procedures and practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA track or CPA designation preferred.
• 1-3 years of experience in fund accounting, public accounting, or financial services, with a preference for backgrounds in Big 4 firms, private equity, or alternative investments.
• Fundamental understanding of fund structures, capital accounting, and U.S. GAAP.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with fund accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage Intacct, or eFront is advantageous.
• Dependable, positive attitude, highly motivated, and a collaborative team player; enthusiastic about tackling challenges in a fast-paced environment.
• Self-motivated individual with a proactive approach, capable of working independently while being flexible and adaptable in problem-solving.
