Description:
**Responsibilities**

  • Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, analysis, and supporting workpapers.
  • Document fund cash activity promptly.
  • Review and reconcile external property financials with Yardi.
  • Handle fund transactions, such as vendor payments and check issuance.
  • Ensure accurate recording of property transactions by external property management accountants.
  • Manage property level capital calls and monitor self-escrowed cash balances.
  • Assist with fund distribution and capital call calculations, ensuring timely payments and updates in Yardi.
  • Compute asset management fees and other required fee calculations accurately.
  • Complete interim and year-end external audit testing requests.
  • Respond to internal tax and investor relations teams' requests.
  • Participate in fund budgeting, forecasting, and reporting activities.
  • Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures.
  • Research technical GAAP and operational questions and provide solutions.
  • Produce quarterly fund financial statements and other financial information.
  • Support the Senior Investment Accountant as needed.
  • Understand how funds are accounted for according to governing documents.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of the general ledger structure and Yardi investment accounting module.
  • Resolve escalated issues promptly and accurately.
  • Lead by example and uphold company values.
  • Perform other duties and projects as needed.

**Qualifications**

  • Minimum of three (3) years of financial accounting experience in real estate investment, development, private equity, or investment advisory, or two (2) years of public accounting experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel intermediate level) and accounting software (Yardi experience is a plus).
  • Organized, detail-oriented, with integrity, motivation, and intellectual curiosity.
  • Skilled in collaborating across complex organizations.
