Title: Investment Operations Associate

Overview: Pacific Executive Search has been engaged on a search for an Investment Operations Associate in Downtown LA. This role offers the opportunity to work within the Client and Fund Reporting-Alternatives group of a well-established finance company. The candidate will be responsible for various investment operations tasks, including bookkeeping, trade ticket preparation, and communication with external agents. With a strong focus on credit strategies and private funds, this position provides an exciting opportunity to gain valuable experience in the finance industry.
– Accurately record bank loan investments and their characteristics in a loan administration system and verify resulting accounting entries
– Prepare trade tickets for bank loan trades to be distributed to various parties
– Collaborate with the investment team to address complex fundings, restructurings, and other investment issues
– Work with the accounting team to ensure proper booking of investments and verify accounting outputs
– Manage and prioritize monthly and quarterly operational tasks, including reports and ad hoc requests
– Update systems with quarterly pricing information
– Communicate with external Agents/Custodians regarding investment discrepancies and issues
– Process credit activity actions, rollovers, paydowns, and other loan administration tasks
– Perform periodic reorganizations and Corp actions
– Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field
– Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience
– Familiarity with the investment management industry, particularly credit strategies and various types of funds and investors
– Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills
– Intermediate understanding of accounting principles Professional Skills Qualifications:
– Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to analyze financial, operational, and strategic matters
– Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team
Desired Qualifications:
– Advanced knowledge of Excel and proficiency in using/learning loan administration systems
– Experience with Allvue Systems Investment Accounting loan admin module is a plus
