Overview: Pacific Executive Search has been engaged on a search for a Accounting Manager in the Austin, TX area within the Biotech and Pharmaceuticals industry. You would have the opportunity to work for a leading health care services company that is at the forefront of creating innovative employer-based health insurance plans. Hybrid 4/1 schedule (Fridays Remote).

Description:
**Responsibilities**

  • Ensure compliance with federal regulations by maintaining accurate general ledger, including intercompany transactions and charges
  • Review transactions to ensure proper revenue recognition and allocation to the correct accounting period
  • Record intercompany transactions in a timely manner
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for accurate and timely financial reporting
  • Supervise accounting for various related entities, such as pharmacy, real estate, TPA, and administrative entities
  • Manage month-end reconciliations and closing processes for assigned entities and consolidation
  • Research and address technical accounting issues for consolidated entities and subsidiaries
  • Act as a point of contact for external auditors regarding accounting processes and procedures
  • Manage insurance reserves and reinsurance matters, collaborating with the risk management department
  • Implement strategies to enhance efficiency through infrastructure improvements and process automation
  • Establish and uphold internal controls
  • Collaborate with AP to ensure accurate expense identification and allocation to appropriate accounts
  • Enhance process efficiencies and serve as the Netsuite manager to improve accuracy and efficiency
  • Work with the finance team to investigate discrepancies between actuals and budget/forecast
  • Perform any additional duties as assigned

**Qualifications**

  • At least 4 years of experience in healthcare accounting
  • Demonstrated ability to manage general ledger and subledgers
  • Experience in a start-up environment preferred
  • Knowledge of Healthedge/VBA or similar health insurance software is a plus
  • ERP System Admin Experience required, Netsuite experience preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field required; MBA preferred
  • Experience with a Big Four or large regional accounting firm highly preferred
  • CPA license or pursuit of CPA license highly preferred
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting
  • Ability to build cross-functional teams and effectively manage others with strong communication skills
  • Deadline-oriented with a desire to learn and expand skill set
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
