Project accountant for a very well-respected real estate firm. The position is hybrid (about 2-3 days/week in their Irvine office) and the company uses Yardi. They are building out Single Family Homes for rent and this role will play a key role, reporting to the VP of Accounting and Finance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain and update financial records for construction projects using Yardi software
• Assist in the preparation of project budgets and track project costs
• Monitor project cash flow and prepare regular financial reports for project stakeholders
• Coordinate with project managers to ensure proper coding of project expenses
• Process vendor invoices and track project subcontractor payments
• Assist in the preparation of project invoices and client billing
• Perform variance analysis to identify areas of cost overrun or underrun
• Assist in the preparation of year-end audit materials and work with external auditors as needed

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
• 2+ years of experience in project accounting, preferably in the construction industry
• Proficiency with Yardi or similar property management software
• Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
