Description:
Responsibilities:
– Ensure the accuracy of financial statements by preparing and reviewing monthly general ledger entries.
– Assist in the month-end closing procedures and analyze inventory and Work-in-Progress (WIP) evaluations.
– Analyze cost accounting data, participate in cycle counts and physical inventories, and provide insights on cost-related matters.
– Conduct in-depth analysis of financial statements and create schedules for Profit and Loss (P/L) accounts.
– Perform detailed monthly actual-to-actual and actual-to-budget analyses.
– Prepare and submit CPFF vouchers and other invoices while maintaining financial documentation.
– Reconcile balance sheet accounts and payroll on a monthly basis, including 401k, PTO, and other related items.
– Assist in the monthly and yearly forecasting and budgeting processes.
– Contribute to monthly project gross margin and profitability reports.
– Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) principles.
– Provide support during audits and assist with tax filings as required.
– Undertake additional duties assigned by management, such as computing Shop Floor Overhead Burden rates, handling Accounts Payable/Receivable tasks, and reviewing contract documents for financial details in new project setups.
– Collaborate with Project Management teams, performing cost and variance analyses, and assisting in identifying and mitigating risks and issues.
Qualifications:

– Proven expertise in Accounting Close activities, including month-end reviews, financial statement analysis, and reconciliations.
– Proficient in Microsoft Office, with advanced skills in Excel.

– Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with strong interpersonal skills.
– Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
– In-depth understanding of GAAP and FAR Cost Principles.
Preferred Skills/Qualifications:
– Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics Navision or Dynamics 365 Business Central.

Preferred Skills/Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
– 5+ years of industry experience as an accountant.
