Entertainment and esport organization in West LA is looking for a strong Senior Accountant to bring on someone to join the finance team in a exciting fast-paced startup environment.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for monthly financial closing activities, procedures, journal entries, and account reconciliations
Review and reconcile bank and credit card accounts
Assist with the A/P function by obtaining approvals, processing invoices from vendors, properly coding expenses, and maintaining A/P files and W-9’s
Responsible for all A/P and A/R
Assist with content and talent accounting including liaising with the Talent and Sales teams, helping determine adequate recognition of revenue, entering bills for sponsorship and brand payments owed to content creators, and assisting with inquiries from internal talent managers
Cross-train with other staff members to ensure all accounting activities are performed in the absence of other staff
Assist in improving, developing, and documenting accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
Work cross-functionally with other groups within the organization to improve communication and flow of information
Support external audit engagements, including providing supporting documentation
Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or analogous major, with minor or concentration in Accounting
Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience – in private and/or public accounting
Strong and demonstrated knowledge of GAAP, month-end close processes, operational accounting procedures, and financial reporting
Experience with major ERP systems. Working knowledge of NetSuite is highly desirable
The ability to manage multiple projects with minimal supervision or direction
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Attention to detail and ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
Strong analytical skills
Highly proficiency in Excel including pivot tables, sumifs, vlookups, index matches, etc
