We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our dynamic and expanding Finance team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in analyzing and reconciling accounts across our diverse portfolio, including our legacy business and strategic growth initiatives like acquisitions and new divisions. Your responsibilities will encompass preparing month-end entries, adjusting journal entries, maintaining internal controls, assisting with external audits, managing invoicing and collections, and preparing comprehensive management reports.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough reviews, analysis, and consolidation of monthly financials, ensuring proper support and reconciliations for all financial accounts.
  • Prepare accurate and timely month-end entries, including I/C chargebacks, production entries, general overhead, and adjusting journal entries, to ensure compliance with GAAP standards, including film and television ultimates accounting.
  • Support the reporting of consolidated financial statements, including the creation of monthly and quarterly divisional reporting packs comprising income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, supporting schedules, analysis, and account reconciliations.
  • Take charge of invoicing processes and diligently monitor collections.
  • Assist in the treasury process by reviewing credit card reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Collaborate with external auditors, identifying areas that may impact controls and providing well-thought-out recommendations for mitigating actions.
  • Actively seek opportunities to enhance and streamline processes, leveraging technology and automation where possible.
  • Provide support to accounting and finance managers, as well as the broader finance team, in areas such as accounting, tax, and reporting.
  • Prepare ad-hoc reports as needed, catering to specific requests or project requirements.
  • Perform any other job-related duties assigned by the team.

Qualifications:

  • Hold a Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent.
  • Possess at least 3 years of professional experience gained through one or more of the following paths:
    • Auditing experience in public accounting, preferably with exposure to the entertainment industry.
    • Previous involvement in an “in-house” Accounting and Reporting team within the Entertainment sector.
  • Demonstrate strong proficiency in Excel and a working knowledge of PowerPoint.
  • Experience with NetSuite and familiarity with U.S. GAAP are advantageous.
