We are seeking a highly skilled and knowledgeable Senior Accountant (Equity Accounting) to join our finance team. As a leading organization in diagnostic imaging services, we value individuals who possess expertise in stock-based compensation and have a thorough understanding of the applicable Accounting Standards Codifications (ASCs) related to equity accounting. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and compliant accounting for stock-based compensation arrangements.

Responsibilities:

  • Focus on stock-based compensation accounting, including the analysis, valuation, and recording of equity-based transactions, such as stock options, restricted stock units (RSUs), and employee stock purchase plans (ESPPs).
  • Maintain a deep understanding of the relevant Accounting Standards Codifications (ASCs) related to stock-based compensation, including ASC 718 (Compensation – Stock Compensation) and ASC 505-50 (Equity-Based Payments to Non-Employees).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Human Resources, Legal, and Payroll, to obtain necessary data and ensure accurate and timely recording of stock-based compensation transactions.
  • Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and related documentation for stock-based compensation activities in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Perform periodic reviews and assessments to ensure compliance with internal controls related to equity accounting.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements, footnotes, and disclosures related to stock-based compensation for SEC filings, auditors, and other stakeholders.
  • Conduct complex equity-related analyses, such as Black-Scholes option pricing model calculations, fair value measurements, and forecasting future equity expenses.
  • Stay updated with the latest developments in stock-based compensation accounting standards and regulations, providing guidance and recommendations to the finance team as needed.
  • Assist in the implementation of new equity compensation plans or modifications to existing plans, ensuring proper accounting treatment and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing documentation and explanations related to equity accounting matters.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA certification is preferred.
  • Extensive experience and expertise in stock-based compensation accounting, with a strong understanding of relevant Accounting Standards Codifications (ASCs), including ASC 718 and ASC 505-50.
  • Knowledge of equity-related valuation methodologies, such as the Black-Scholes option pricing model.
  • Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and ability to apply accounting principles to complex equity accounting transactions.
  • Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and the ability to perform accurate and thorough reconciliations.
  • Proficient in financial reporting systems and software used for equity accounting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience working with auditors and providing support during internal and external audits.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
