Description:

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and document journal entries and reconciliations, making necessary adjustments to ensure the accuracy of financial reports.
  • Conduct monthly account reconciliations and provide detailed analysis of various balance sheet accounts, documenting fluctuations for comparative periods.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with team members to initiate and lead process improvement projects.
  • Engage with both internal and external auditors as needed.
  • Work closely with operational colleagues to gain a thorough understanding of the company's operations, ensuring accurate and timely financial statements.
  • Participate in or lead various accounting projects, meetings, and functions as directed by management.
  • Coordinate with accounts payable to ensure accurate expense coding and oversee sub-ledger reconciliations.
  • Assist in reviewing fixed asset accounts to ensure compliance with capitalization policies and proper account coding.
  • Undertake special projects in accounting and finance as required.
  • Implement accounting policies and procedures that support best practices.
  • Suggest improvements to policies, procedures, and system applications to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Adhere to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) in the preparation of financial statements.
  • Compile and analyze financial information for reporting purposes.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual budgets along with analytical commentary for review with the operations team.
  • Demonstrate a solid understanding of key financial concepts, including budgeting, forecasting, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
  • Support daily accounting operations with a focus on automation and process improvement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners and external stakeholders to foster relationships and support company initiatives.
  • Participate in SOX compliance control testing as required.
  • Contribute to the monthly accounting close process by performing variance analysis to ensure accuracy.
  • Generate timely and accurate monthly and quarterly financial reporting summaries and analyses for operational use.
  • Prepare accruals, reclassification entries, and variance analyses promptly and accurately.
  • Identify, recommend, and implement process enhancements that improve the efficiency of accounting and finance operations while increasing the value of information provided to internal teams and partners.
  • Respond to financial inquiries by gathering, analyzing, summarizing, and interpreting relevant data.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • A minimum of 4 years of professional experience in a fast-paced environment.
  • Possess strong quantitative and analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated effective business and financial discernment.
  • Exhibit a strong work ethic and a high level of accountability.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities while performing job responsibilities accurately in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong organizational skills, initiative, and the ability to work independently as a self-starter.
  • A natural curiosity that drives the ability to ask insightful questions.
  • Capability to analyze a high volume of transactions and data.
