Description:

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing processes by preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and generating reporting schedules to ensure accuracy, while assisting FP&A with variance analysis.
  • Manage the accounts payable and receivable functions, tax reporting, and other accounting operations to ensure excellence in accounting practices.
  • Promote ongoing enhancements in processes, policies, and systems to boost efficiency and scalability, while ensuring the integrity of internal controls.
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders to gather essential contextual information and support cross-departmental initiatives within the organization.
  • Lead the implementation of accounting policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with GAAP principles for all financial transactions.
  • Work alongside leadership to prepare consolidated financial statements and footnote disclosures, including necessary supporting documentation.
  • Guide and mentor the accounting team, encouraging professional development and teamwork.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 7 years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial capacity; a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required; CPA or equivalent certification is preferred.
  • In-depth understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
  • Proficient in accounting software (such as NetSuite or QuickBooks) and skilled in Excel/Google Sheets.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of influencing stakeholders at various levels.
  • Experience in a start-up environment, demonstrating the ability to effectively prioritize tasks in a dynamic setting.
  • This is a hybrid role; preference will be given to candidates who can commute to the office three days a week, though remote exceptions may be considered for highly qualified candidates, with a travel requirement of 25%.
