Innovative earth friendly automotive company in West LA is looking for a Senior Accountant responsible for the accuracy, completeness, and overall integrity of the month-end close and consolidation reporting process.   • Own the month, quarter, and annual close reporting activities, providing the Accounting Manager direct support with the financial statement close process
  • Prepare the reconciliation of the key asset and liability accounts (i.e., Cash (multi-currency and foreign exchange), Credit Cards, Prepaid rollforward schedule, Fixed Asset rollforward schedule)
  • Oversee Intercompany transactions to ensure accuracy of financials within the close process
  • Maintaining the workbook for all adjusting journal entries,
  • Assist with management reporting and financial flux analysis
  • Assist in technical accounting and tax research; helping ensure compliance with all SEC, FASB and other technical developments 
  • Support Accounting Manager with internal auditor requests in designing and implementing controls, along with narratives and documentation in compliance with SOX 
  • Support FP&A and Financial Reporting with budget vs actuals as well as disclosures necessary for SEC filings
  • Support Accounting Manager with internal and external audit processes in a timely and comprehensive manner
  • Support in the tax compliance (i.e., 1099 filing, sales and use tax filing, income tax filing
  • Assist Accounting Manager in implementing new accounting policies and updating older policies to conform with accounting standards adopted by the Company
  • Assist with development of training materials and other learning experiences for departments outside of finance
  • Support with the implementation of new features in NetSuite and other financial systems
  • Foster continuous management and support of accounting processes including recommendation and implementation of process improvements
  • Assist with various reporting and ad hoc projects/duties as needed


  • Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in Accounting/Finance or related field; CPA a big plus
  • A minimum of 4 years experience, with 1+ years of leading a month-end close, 2+ years in GL Corporate accounting, preferably from startup or high growth companies, and public accounting experience preferably from a Big 6 firm
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP and SEC/External Reporting requirements 
  • Must have strong analytical skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Strong understanding of general ledger accounting; experience with NetSuite ideal
  • Advanced MS Excel skills and proficiency in MS PowerPoint and MS Word
  • An understanding of accounting in a consumer goods and manufacturing environment
  • Strong project management skills: good follow-through on goals, plans, and projects
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, ability to communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization
  • Self-starter who loves taking initiative and proactively provide suggestions for how to streamline and improve processes
