Responsibilities

  • Manage the complete general ledger accounting for accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
  • Oversee the monthly closing procedures, including the preparation of accruals, journal entries, reconciliations, and result analysis.
  • Collaborate with the Financial Planning & Analysis team to ensure accurate and timely actuals for forecasting purposes.
  • Prepare audit documentation and act as the primary contact for the year-end audit process.
  • Handle revenue recognition and deferment, including the accrual of refund and warranty reserves.
  • Oversee the entire order-to-cash accounting process.
  • Manage all elements of inventory accounting, including tracking, valuation, reconciliations, and reporting activities.
  • Record and oversee inventory transactions (procurement, inbound, transfers, consumption, etc.) across all warehouses and third-party logistics sites.
  • Maintain and reconcile inventory subledgers, including vendor deposits, inventory in transit, freight clearing, rental assets, and prepaid expenses.
  • Update and maintain inventory roll forwards, depreciation schedules, and inventory aging/obsolete and excess reserves.
  • Conduct debt and equity roll forwards, analyses, and reconciliations.
  • Lead the annual physical inventory counts and coordinate audits of inventory balances.
  • Identify and implement automation and workflow enhancements across accounting functions.
  • Enhance internal controls, documentation, and audit preparedness.
  • Work collaboratively across departments to improve inventory tracking, purchasing workflows, and reporting accuracy.
  • Enforce data integrity and cutoff policies throughout the organization.
  • Coordinate with external tax professionals regarding state and local sales taxes, VAT, PST, GST, and income tax filings.
  • Ensure adherence to local and international tax obligations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration.
  • At least 5 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in a product-oriented or startup environment.
  • Comprehensive understanding of US GAAP, inventory costing methodologies, and financial controls.
  • Proficient technical skills in Excel (including Power Query and Power Pivot) and familiarity with SQL or VBA.
  • Experience with QuickBooks Enterprise or comparable ERP systems.
  • CPA designation is preferred.
