Description:
**Responsibilities**

  • Prepare and file federal, state, and local tax documents including property tax returns, state pages, and various tax returns, extensions, and payments.
  • Create tax provision schedules by reviewing, preparing, and consolidating schedules.
  • Research federal, state, and local taxation issues to recommend tax strategies.
  • Stay updated on new or revised laws by reviewing and interpreting legislative materials.
  • Review tax returns for accuracy and completeness.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations by submitting required information to authorities.
  • Develop and streamline procedures and worksheets for tax provision calculations.
  • Analyze tax information to identify potential profitability in mergers and acquisitions.
  • Coordinate and manage records for the company and clients.
  • Prepare and record book-to-tax adjusting entries.
  • Comply with legal requirements and professional standards to avoid legal challenges.
  • Maintain confidentiality of organization's information to protect its value.
  • Participate in educational opportunities, read professional publications, and engage in professional organizations to update job knowledge.
  • Create and update templates for letters, faxes, and company literature.
  • Provide feedback and guidance to staff on workpapers formatting and organization.
  • Communicate with clients and vendors.
  • Support other staff and affiliates as needed.

**Qualifications**

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field.
  • 2+ years of tax experience.
  • Intermediate or above proficiency in CCH Axcess for tax preparation.
  • Proactive approach with the ability to anticipate project needs.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
