Senior Financial Analyst position within the finance team of a real estate development and management company. The position is responsible both for deal-level analysis in addition to the overall modeling process from acquisition to investor reporting and forecasting.

The Senior Financial Analyst will be primarily responsible for budgeting, financial reporting, and financial analysis across each property and corporate entity. He/she will manage processes in place and assist in developing new processes to produce accurate budgets and actionable Management Discussion and Analysis (MD&A).

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the system-generated management reporting of actual results on a monthly, quarterly, annual, and ad hoc basis;
• Work with the FP&A Manager and Property Accounting department to maintain the chart of accounts, company/entity codes, and ensure the integration into all aspects of the ERP (RealPage) system and financial reporting;
• Manage special projects, including preparation, documentation, and project management for executive financial management;
• Responsible for preparing, reviewing, and presenting ad hoc analyses;
• Manage the companywide budget process, including preparing and documenting support for budgeted amounts, including variance analysis of one-time expenses, assumptions or proposed methodology changes;
• Develop new processes and improve existing processes, including communication and rollout to other departments;
• Manage and update the company-wide 5-year cashflow forecast;
• Train Regional Managers in the use of the Excel-based budget template and associated input worksheet; and
• Reports to the FP&A Manager and interacts with other senior management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related degree required.
• Advanced degree and/or CPA preferred.
• Must have 5-7 years of experience in accounting or finance.
• Must have a STRONG background in using Excel with a preference for advanced skills.
