For over 10 years, this company has been a global leader in the acquisition, development, and management of the real estate and infrastructure in the wireless communications, outdoor advertising, digital infrastructure, and renewable power generation industries. They are looking to hire a Staff Accountant for their state-of-the-art corporate headquarters located in El Segundo, near Los Angeles.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepares and records asset, liability, revenue, and expense entries by compiling and analyzing various GL accounts.
  • Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
  • Review financial statement variances during month end and ensure that accounting transactions are complete, and balances are accurate.
  • Coordinate with accounting staff to ensure month­end close is timely (including A/R and A/P items).
  • Research items to properly explain month-over-month variances.
  • Assist with the preparation of accounting & management reports.
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Maintain monthly balance sheet account reconciliations, including ensuring that outstanding items are cleared/resolved in a timely manner.
  • Communicate professionally with management and partners.
  • Assist with the annual audit process by providing schedules and responding to inquiries from the company’s external auditors, internal and external audit requests as needed, other ad hoc requests and projects, and annual budgeting.
  • Assist with the review of cash receipt entries, monthly tenant billings, and lease agreements for completeness and accuracy before they are posted in the accounting system.
  • Work with data center mgmt. team to code data center-related invoices and submit them to AP for processing.
  • Other duties related to the ongoing operation of the organization may be assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or other related areas
  • Thorough knowledge of general accounting principles
  • Proficiency using Microsoft applications (Word, Excel-Vlook-up/Sum IF/Pivot Tables)
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills attuned to maintaining positive working relationships
  • One to three (1-3) years of relevant experience, preferably in real estate, property management environment, or fund accounting
  • Yardi accounting software experience or accounting software equivalent preferred
