A private equity real estate firm in the Torrance area is looking for a Senior Accountant. Ideal candidates have experience in both multifamily and commercial real estate. Great benefits, work-life balance, compensation package, and outstanding team environment.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinating accounting functions and programs.
• Preparing financial analyses and reports.
• Preparing revenue projections and forecasting expenditures.
• Assisting with preparing and monitoring budgets.
• Maintaining and reconciling balance sheets and general ledger accounts.
• Assisting with annual audit preparations.
• Investigating and resolving audit findings, account discrepancies, and issues of non-compliance.
• Contributing to the development of new or amended accounting systems, programs, and procedures.
• Performing other accounting duties as required or assigned.

Qualifications:

• Must be able to handle multiple projects with accuracy under strict deadlines.
• Entrepreneurial perspective.
• A cohesive ability at interpersonal and communication skills, both verbally and written.
• Able to engage with staff at all levels of the organization and exercise sound judgment.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills; responsive and good at follow-through.
• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
• Knowledgeable Yardi financial and reporting capabilities helpful.
• Education and Experience:
  • Previous experience in real estate required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business, or related field is required.
  • At least 3-5+ years of public accounting experience is highly desirable.
  • Minimum 3 years of progressive responsibilities in the finance/accounting field.
  • Understanding of real estate financial reporting and cost accounting standards.
