Business Management company in Century City looking for a Staff Accountant to join their Finance and Accounting team. This is an excellent opportunity to join a modern and fast-growing investment firm that provides proprietary alternative investments across multiple asset classes including Private Equity, Venture Capital, Real Estate, Private Debt, and traditional equity and fixed-income portfolios, as well as financial services including business management, tax, insurance, and planning. The Staff Accountant will be a key member of our team whose primary responsibilities are maintaining general ledgers, preparing analyses, and reports, supporting the book closing process, financial reporting, and audits.
Responsibilities:
Performs general accounting and other related duties like maintaining general ledgers
Reconciles cash accounts, customer accounts, and other financial accounts
Code invoices, set up new accounts, reconcile accounts, and close monthly books
Verify and/or complete payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensure payments are charged/coded to the appropriate accounts and resolve any billing issues with third parties
Reconcile bank accounts at least monthly, verify deposits, and address inquiries from banks
Prepare accounting information for internal reporting, regulatory, and tax filings
Timely calculation and accurate reporting of NAV (Net Asset Value)
Calculate management fees and other performance fees
Support and coordinate with third parties, e.g., tax providers and fund administration firms
Assist the Finance and Accounting team with financial, administrative, analysis, and other additional tasks and ad hoc projects as they arise and any other duties which are reasonable and consistent with this position as may be assigned from time to time
Reports to the Accounting Manager or Controller

Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
At least two years of relevant accounting experience
Proficient with Microsoft Excel and accounting software

Preferred experience with fund accounting or working at a financial sponsor is preferred but not required
