Responsibilities

  • Prepare comprehensive financial packages and reports for lenders during property refinancing and recapitalization processes.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of loan covenants, compliance deadlines, and refinancing timelines to ensure timely submissions.
  • Act as the primary liaison for lenders, loan servicers, and debt partners, addressing financial inquiries and documentation requirements.
  • Lead the creation of detailed monthly and quarterly internal reports for ownership, highlighting portfolio performance, cash flow, and operating margins.
  • Customize reporting packages tailored for family office executives and stakeholders at the property level.
  • Enhance and refine internal reporting processes, key performance indicators (KPIs), and dashboards.
  • Direct cash flow forecasting at both the property and portfolio levels, incorporating debt service, capital improvements, and leasing assumptions.
  • Assist in acquisition and refinancing decisions by analyzing and constructing property-level financial models.
  • Maintain rolling forecasts and conduct scenario analyses to inform strategic capital planning.
  • Supervise both internal and outsourced accounting functions through the existing Controller.
  • Establish and uphold internal controls, accounting cycles, and best practices to ensure compliance and accuracy.
  • Lead initiatives aimed at enhancing process rigor, audit readiness, and calendar-based planning.

Qualifications

  • 7 to 15 years of experience in real estate investment, family office, or private equity-backed environments.
  • Demonstrated success in refinancing, loan covenant compliance, and lender-facing financial responsibilities.
  • Strong technical knowledge of GAAP accounting, with hands-on leadership in month-end closing, financial reporting, and tax coordination.
  • Expertise in cash flow forecasting, budgeting, and portfolio-level analytics.
  • Proven track record of implementing process enhancements and control frameworks.
  • Outstanding communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with C-suite executives and external partners.
  • Preferred qualifications include CPA certification or experience with a Big Four public accounting firm.
  • Familiarity with property tax, K-1, and partnership tax coordination is advantageous.
  • Proficient in real estate systems and Excel-based financial modeling.
