VP of Credit for a rapidly growing lender with offices in Irvine and El Segundo. The client is looking for someone who can lead a team of 10 and put processes and policies in place. They are growing rapidly and expect the growth to continue, so this is a great opportunity for someone with experience in a larger environment to put their experience to use. The company recently received a substantial investment from a Private Equity group that has been fueling a lot of their growth and they're looking for someone with experience with both syndication and internal balance sheet loans.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the internal compliance of credit policy and lending guidelines in daily operations.
  • Identify demand for new credit products, programs, and industries and create necessary programs to accommodate new opportunities.
  • Maintain close relationships with our internal clients including sales representatives, funding team members, etc. to develop better two-way communications and facilitate smooth transaction processing.
  • Structure loans and coordinate the credit adjudication and decision process in conjunction with Credit Analysts, Sales Executives, and Management.
  • Fulfill responsibilities as a Senior Credit Committee member evaluating credit transactions that need extensive review.
  • Conduct “testing” of credit decisions, adherence to policies, productivity, etc.
  • Manage and maintain KPIs internally for credit department and externally for lenders and partnerships.
  • Perform portfolio analysis and evaluate portfolio performance through various reports internally and with external partners.
  • Identify problem accounts, industries, and trends and collaborate with executive team to recommend and implement policy changes.
  • Oversee vendor management and special programs.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to improve delinquency and the customer experience related to credit.
  • Ensure compliance with laws, regulations, standards, and best practices including completion and maintenance of reports, documentation, and records.
  • Keep abreast of market conditions, regulatory developments, and industry trends to anticipate credit deterioration and recommend corrective courses of action, as needed.
  • Oversee management of Credit team
  • Assist in the pricing and structuring of transactions that are more challenging to navigate.
  • Plan, recommend, develop, and implement policies and programs to advance the objectives and decisions of the president and board of directors.
  • Establish and administer the credit budget.
  • Facilitate and assist with internal or external audits.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree Required, related field preferred
  • 8-10 years of related experience required
  • CLFP License preferred
  • 7 – 10 years credit management experience, preferably in the equipment finance industry.
  • Track record in business analysis and process improvement
  • Solid analytical and underwriting skills for all transaction sizes and ability to understand and resolve complex problems in expeditious manner.
  • Substantial knowledge of portfolio performance and analysis and risk assessment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport, cooperation and establish strong relationships within the company and externally.
  • Ability to effectively communicate views to senior business partners and executive management as well as external stakeholders including regulators, auditors, etc
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, PowerBi, and SalesForce
